Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MumChat, a service operated by SBG Trading Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, or “MumChat”).

By using MumChat, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

MumChat is a tool that helps parents and carers manage family events. You can forward WhatsApp messages and images to MumChat, and we will extract event details and send you a calendar invite — just hit Accept and the event is in your calendar.

MumChat uses AI — currently Meta’s Llama model — to read and interpret the messages you forward.

You must be at least 18 years old to use MumChat. By using the service you confirm that you are 18 or over.

MumChat is intended for personal, non-commercial use by parents and carers.

MumChat is currently free to use during early access. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and you will not be charged without your explicit agreement.

We may also introduce advertising within the service in the future. We will notify you before doing so.

When using MumChat, you agree to:

• Only forward messages that you have received and are entitled to share.
• Not forward messages containing illegal content, hate speech, or content that violates anyone’s rights.
• Not attempt to misuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service.
• Keep your registered WhatsApp number and email address accurate and up to date.

You are responsible for how you use any calendar events or information generated by MumChat. We provide the service to help you stay organised — we are not responsible for missed events or inaccurate information.

MumChat uses AI to extract event details from messages. AI is not perfect. Dates, times, and details may occasionally be extracted incorrectly. You should always review events before accepting them to your calendar.

We do not guarantee that every event in a forwarded message will be detected or extracted correctly.

You retain ownership of any messages you forward to MumChat. By forwarding a message to us, you grant us a limited licence to process its content for the sole purpose of providing the service (extracting event details).

Original message content is deleted immediately after processing. We do not read, store, or share the content of your messages beyond what is necessary to extract event details.

We aim to keep MumChat available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or events beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SBG Trading Ltd is not liable for:

• Any loss arising from inaccurate event extraction by the AI
• Any missed events, appointments, or obligations
• Any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from your use of the service

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

MumChat integrates with third-party services including Meta (WhatsApp and Llama AI), Supabase, and Resend. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the actions of third-party providers.

Calendar invites we send are compatible with Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar. We are not affiliated with those services and are not responsible for their operation.

You can stop using MumChat at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, visit our contact page.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of MumChat after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
